Conservative Democrat Challenger
Local business owner Orlando Marrero is the Democratic challenger for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in District 139, which includes portions of Pike and Wayne Counties, which has been held by a Republican incumbent for ten years who has repeatedly run unopposed by a Democratic challenger.
Orlando is married to Marie, a retail store manager, and they are the very proud parents of two children – their 21-year-old son is a graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School and is currently a student at Allegheny College and their 9-year-old daughter – born and raised exclusively in Wayne County – who attends elementary school in the Wallenpaupack Area School District.
Marrero is the founder and sole proprietor of NEPA Lock professional locksmith service in Hawley and is a U.S. Navy veteran. He has been actively engaged in local and national politics for the past decade.
His platform is focused on three issues critical to all voters our House District:
ENDING GERRYMANDERING IN THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA via adoption of the bipartisan Fair Districts PA (www.fairdistrictspa.com) bills HB722 and SB22.
COMBATING THE OPIOID EPIDEMIC targeting the source — not the ill and addicted — by empowering District Attorneys to go after the drug companies which are flooding our communities with these drugs.
INCREASING ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES TO CREATE JOBS through development of infrastructure projects and by attracting innovative Pennsylvania-based businesses to Pike and Wayne Counties.
